Analysis of "What Patriotism Means To Me"

I just read: The Last Psychiatrist: Election 2008: "What Patriotism Means To Me" and what stands out to my (cynical) eye is that McCain's speech easily dove-tails with "trust the President, it's for the good of the country" whereas Obama's message is more that "we the people" are in charge of our destiny.
