White Car Is White

Yah, the Mazda got a paint job.

I sanded and sanded and sanded and sanded the roof of the car to get rid of the rust. Then I taped up the windows with some help from Simone. And then came the cans of spray paint - two coats of primer and three coats of white with a few minutes between each coat.

Now it's white. ish

Simone was very proud of how the car was going to look. She said that everyone at work would be surprised how shiny it was, which is true.

I envy you your painting skill on the van. For years I've wanted to paint our old brown monster truck white. I even got as close as buying the frog tape for the windows... But it never happened.

We got a new† van that we're just getting onto the road and it is white. I am hoping that will reflect the sun's heat away and keep it cooler in the summer.

Our old brown van (1996) really soaked up the heat and when you stopped at a light the roof started popping.

With the old van I did not worry much about rust but the new one has virtually none so I'm going to try and keep ahead of it.

Cheers,

-Walter

†well new to us although we are the third owner. It's a 2004-Jan.
